We can discuss any medical issue that you may have, the same way you would ask your NHS GP about a medical issue. However please be aware that some conditions require physical examination and diagnostic test such as imaging or blood test which I can not provide during a telephone consultation.


What DRGP can not help you with
  • DRGP can not offer emergency care such as dealing with acute chest pain, stroke symptoms (slurred speech ,facial drooping, sudden weakness in an arm or leg), severe abdominal pain, acute shortness of breath, severe bleeding, sudden loss of vision, vomiting blood, severe rectal bleeding, seizures, acute confusion or recent loss of consciousness.
  • Patients who require emergency care should still ring 999 or go to A&E. If you book an appointment that requires emergency care we still will advise you to attend your nearest A&E urgently or call 999 after our call. We can provide you with an electronic letter of our consultation to take with you.
  • DRGP can not refer you to NHS services such as a 2 week wait cancer referral or other NHS hospital services.
  • DRGP can not make your NHS GP order diagnostic tests or refer you to an NHS specialist, we can write to them with suggestions, but they may not agree with our suggestion.
  • DRGP can not offer maternity care.
  • DRGP can not offer palliative treatment.
  • We can not prescribe controlled drugs (Schedule 1,2 and 3 drugs).
